Cheesemaking comes to Hartingtons in the Peak District

Hartingtons in the Peak District brings the ancient art of cheesemaking back to the Peak District but only for the day.

Hartingtons School of Food in Bakewell held it's first ever cheesemaking course on the 30th May for an enthusiastic group of 16 novice and curious cheesemakers.  The students travelled from far and wide to the Peak District (the furthest had popped in from Santiago, Chile admittedly via Cardiff ) to gain some expert tuition in cheesemaking from cheesemaking expert Chris Ashby

During the day students learned how to make three types of soft cheeses.  A camembert style cheese, a roulade lemon cheese and a mozzarella.  A fantastic days cheesemaking and a great way of bring the ancient art of cheesemaking back to Derbyshire and the Peak District.
