Carsington Water Autumn Food Fair & Chocolate Extravaganza

There's a nip in the air. It's the perfect time for chocolate & chocolate tasting.  Carsington Water's food fair returns on Sunday the 19th October with an array of artisan food producers and our own unique chocolate trail.  Follow the chocolate trail around the food fair to find out what fantastic and unusual things that can be produced with the help of the wonderful coccoa bean.  At the end of our chocolate trail enter our free prize draw to win a fabulous chocolate hamper provided by artisan chocolatier Naughty & Nice from Bakewell.  

Entry to the Carsington Water Food Fair is free and doors will be open from 10am until 4pm but get their early to make sure you get the biggest choice and before the producers sell out.  Supplies are strictly limited.  Our artisan food producers will include:

"Will have some patterned chocolate boxes and chocolate shoes for unique gifts; Scottie dog lollies; freshly-made Amaretto truffles; freshly made Champagne truffles; dark chocolate chilli leaves; single origin 75% Tanzanian chocolate mini slabs; and lots of other chocolate treats including chocolate mice (as pictured).  More items being made tomorrow!"

Make yourself a cuppa and put your feet up!

Well the first real snow of Winter has fallen in the Peak District. Everywhere has a covering and in some places much more!

So if you don't need to travel today.....why not keep nice and warm indoors, make yourself a "cuppa tea", put your feet up, have a little surf and make plans for the months ahead.

It won't be long before Spring is upon us so how about doing something challenging and new for yourself in 2012? Chocolates for Valentines Day

Well Valentines Day is fast approaching and if your loved one is a chocoholic then we have the ideal Valentines gift for them.

They will be in "chocolate heaven" with an indulgent Artisan Chocolate Course at Hartingtons School of Food in Bakewell.

We will pamper them from arrival to departure with a talk on the history of chocolate, a tutored chocolate tasting, indulgent hot chocolate refreshments, a delicious lunch, chocolate demos and a "hands on" chocolate making experience which will ensure that at the end of the day they return home with a box of their own delicious chocolate creations.

The whole event will be led by master chocolatier Barry Colenso, who has a lifetime of experience in chocolate.........such is Barry's expertise that last year he had the honour of helping create the groom's chocolate cake for William and Kate's Royal Wedding.

Chocoholics near Chatsworth

It's no secret. I'm a bit of a chocoholic. I love real dark chocolate not the sweet stuff that we are brought up on in this country. Imagine my joy when we were contacted by a true artisan chocolatier wanting to come to our Bank Holiday Food Fair in Baslow on the 28th August.

Shelly Preston is a fine chocolatier with a boutique next to the Welbeck Farm Shop on the Welbeck Estate. I've posted a picture of some of her creations. Even better she is going to do 12 hour hot chocolate at our Baslow Food Fair nr Chatsworth. So chocoholics you know where to come on the 28th August. See you in the queue!

Simply Cocoa Sunday

Chocoholics are in for a treat at our next food fair in Baslow nr Chatsworth.

I've just spoken to the delightful Karen of Simply Cocoa and she has agreed to bring her chocolate delights to our food fair on Sunday the 8th May.

Her specialist chocolate products are a visual as well as a taste sensation with mouth watering delights such as white chocolate bar with milk and strawberry curls & luxury chocolate truffles.

Coghlans cookery school announces 50% discount

Coghlans cookery school based near Chesterfield has announced a 50% discount on all it's cookery courses (excludes 8 Week General Cookery Course) that are booked before 30th September. This means the cookery courses are just £75 instead of the usual £150 daily rate.
